Plant Helps Company Improve Product Time to Market and Enhances Manufacturing Quality Control
Norcross, GA – May 8, 2009 American Biosurgical, a custom medical cable manufacturer, recently unveiled a brand new, fully modernized manufacturing facility in Dong Guan, China. The expanded capabilities are a result of the company's growth and desire to exert greater control over its medical interconnect manufacturing and quality management programs.
This 80,000-square-foot facility adds a state-of-the-art, FDA-compliant cGMP facility and marks the transition of American Biosurgical to a 100% turnkey medical interconnect manufacturer. "This facility significantly enhances our manufacturing capabilities and also enables us to continue to invest in future growth," says Joe McGhee, CEO and Chairman of American Biosurgical. "This is the final piece of the puzzle for our first phase of growth and keeps our operations scalable to keep pace with several new opportunities and new technologies in our pipeline. More importantly, it extends our overall capabilities to offer complete end-to-end solutions for our customers."
American Biosurgical’s new plant is one of the first U.S.- headquartered companies in Dong Guan to receive Medical Device Quality Management System certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). "I am pleased that our new facility has formally opened," said American Biosurgical Asia General Manager Nick Chang. "Every element of our new facility is designed and built to achieve the upmost standards for quality.”
The newly constructed plant has also been registered with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) and is now properly position to begin operations. The manufacturing center will export thousands of custom medical interconnect products to customers throughout the world and employ over 500 workers.
